Faculty Development

Faculty Development is a part of the Office of Vice Provost and Academic Affairs and Faculty Development. Our goal is to provide resources and information for faculty career development and tools for teaching and learning that contribute to the OUHSC teaching, research, and service mission.

Faculty Senate 

Composed of members of the Regular Faculty of the Health Sciences Center. Each college on the campus is represented in the Senate according to a formula defined in the Charter of the Regular Faculty and Faculty Senate. Election of members for three-year terms is by a vote of the Regular Faculty of each college.

The Senate exercises legislative powers as delegated by the Regular Faculty and has the power to initiate any legislation requiring the approval of the Board of Regents of the University.

Meetings of the Senate are typically held on the third Thursday of each month with the exception of March, when the meeting will be moved to the fourth Thursday if Spring Break falls on the regular schedule. There are no meetings in July and December.

Staff Senate  

Composed of members of the OUHSC Staff from designated groups on campus. Senators and Alternates are elected annually from the constituents of their group.

The Senate exercises legislative powers as delegated by the Regular Faculty and has the power to initiate any legislation requiring the approval of the Board of Regents of the University.

Meetings of the Senate are typically held on the third Thursday of each month with the exception of March, when the meeting will be moved to the fourth Thursday if Spring Break falls on the regular schedule. There are no meetings in July and December.

 Meetings of the Senate are typically held on the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Bird Library Auditorium. Staff Senate meetings are open for all staff to attend.
